Foyle Consulting Engineers (FCE) a trading division of Londonderry Port & Harbour Commissioners was founded in 2010 and has established a proven track record of providing engineering services to our Clients over the subsequent years. FCE's knowledge of the Port business and the local area gives port users and prospective developers and customers a unique expertise in delivering successful solutions for Port projects. FCE's offices located centrally within the Port estate provide the resources necessary to continuously deliver a first class service on any size of project.
Foyle Consulting Engineers offer a complete structural/civil engineering service from initial concept through to construction. The professional team of engineers are dedicated to technical excellence, economy of design, high quality and Client satisfaction. We are first and foremost committed to providing professional engineering solutions for our Clients, whilst offering a personal approach and adding value in everything we do. We aim to achieve cost effective, practical and innovative solutions to meet our client’s requirements within agreed timescales.
FCE services include:
- Structural solutions based on steelwork, concrete, timber or masonry design
- Specialist foundation design solutions such as piling, vibro-compaction, re-inforced concrete pad and stem
- Civil Engineering consultancy in relation to roads, retaining walls, foul and storm sewers, water mains, flood impact assessments and attenuation systems.
- Preparation of structural surveys and reports from single elements within a structure to complete structures regardless to size.

Foyle Engineering offers both repairs and manufacturing of steel products for the agricultural, construction and marine sectors as well as specialist port products including hoppers, grabs and lifting equipment. Foyle Engineering has a highly skilled team with extensive cross-industry experience who are focused on both quality of workmanship and reliability of service. Located within the harbour estate at a state-of-the-art facility with highly specialised equipment including a machining workshop for the production of precision machined ferrous and non-ferrous components.
In 2017, Foyle Engineering became fully accredited in compliance with the standard EN 1090-1 resulting in the award of an EC Certificate of Conformity of our Factory Production Control permitting the organisation to issue a Declaration of Performance in support of CE Marked products for the design and manufacture of structures and structural components for the construction industry.
